About Us

Who are we?

The Climate Challenge is run by a group of young leaders aged 15-20 from across the country who are passionate about empowering our peers to take action on climate change. We were founded by a group of high school students in 2015 with the support of Generation Zero and have since grown into a national organisation.

The Climate Challenge is nonpartisan, recognising that climate progress needs the support of all political parties not just a few. We work hard to help young people connect with political leaders from across parliament to both make their own informed political opinions and be heard by New Zealand’s leaders.

Our Ambition

To give young kiwis the tools and opportunities to be innovative climate leaders.

Our Goals

Educate

young people about the issues they face and what they can do about them
Empower

young people with the skills and resources they need to be leaders in their communities
Connect

young people with their passionate peers, people who can support them and the leaders of New Zealand

Activate

young people in their communities. Support their sustained actions and change-making
